The Rear Support Harness provides partial help at the back while your dog does what they can. It is intended for getting up, potty trips, and short assisted movement. It is not a full-body carrier. If your dog needs front-end support too, ask your vet about an appropriate setup.
Measure your dog and compare their measurements with the product size guide. Weight alone doesn’t tell you where the support will sit. If you’re unsure, email support@dogfirst.co before ordering.
Contact support@dogfirst.co with your order details and where the fit seems wrong. The current return policy explains the available exchange process.
Follow the fitting instructions and check where the support sits before your dog puts weight into it. Stop if it rubs, shifts, presses on a sore spot, or your dog seems uncomfortable. Recheck the fit and get advice before trying again.
Use it for getting up, potty trips, and short assisted movement at your dog’s pace. Stairs and car entry require a suitable setup and a dog who can still do some of the work. Never carry their full body weight from rear support alone. It is not a car restraint.
The harness can help your dog reach their potty spot. The existing product information does not confirm bathroom clearance while it is worn. Email support@dogfirst.co to confirm suitability for your dog before ordering.
Contact support@dogfirst.co before sending anything back. The saved return policy allows return requests within 90 days of delivery and currently includes condition and sale-item exclusions.
The storefront offer is free 5-day shipping. For delivery timing to your address, contact support@dogfirst.co.
My 13 year old lab was struggling so much to get up from the floor. I just give him a little lift with this and he’s up. Such a simple thing but it has made our days so much easier.
Honestly wish I got this months ago. My girl’s back legs have gotten weak with age and I was always trying to lift her with my arms. This is WAY easier for both of us.
Our biggest problem was the stairs. His back legs would give out halfway up and I was terrified he was going to fall. Now I can support him the whole way. I feel so much better.
He still wants to walk and sniff everything, his back legs just can’t keep up anymore. This lets me help him without doing everything for him. He seems much more confident walking now.
I was worried this would be one more complicated dog thing sitting in a closet lol. It takes me like 10 seconds to put on and we use it every day.
If you have a big dog with weak back legs you know the struggle. I physically could not keep picking him up. This has saved my back and makes helping him so much easier.
My shepherd can still walk pretty well but getting into the SUV became impossible for her. I give her a little boost from the back and she gets right in now.
My old girl’s back feet kept sliding out from under her on our hardwood floors. I use this to steady her when she gets up and walks through the house. Huge help.
This has been so helpful for potty breaks. He was having trouble standing long enough to go and I can support his back end without holding his whole body up.
My dog is 14 and mentally he’s still ready to go everywhere with me. His legs are just old. I love that I can help him instead of constantly telling him no.
We were using a towel under her belly before this. It worked but it was awkward and always slipping around. This is much more comfortable to hold and feels way more secure.
We bought this for recovery after our dog’s surgery. It made those first few weeks so much easier, especially getting him outside and helping him stand up.
My husband used to have to help me get our dog up because he’s almost 90 pounds. I can actually help him on my own with this. That alone made it worth it for me.
I thought my dog might hate having something around her back legs but she didn’t care at all. First try she got up with my help and just started walking.
Nothing is wrong with his front legs. It’s just his back end that needs help. This supports exactly where he needs it without getting in his way.
I really thought we were at the point where our walks were done. Now I bring this with us and help him when his legs get tired. We’re not going far, but he gets to go outside and enjoy himself again :)
Before this I followed her around constantly because I was scared her legs would buckle. I still stay close, but now I know I can catch and support her when she needs it.
I kept putting off buying one because I wasn’t sure we really needed it yet. We did. If your dog is starting to struggle getting up or using stairs, I wouldn’t wait like I did.
It’s basically just giving him the extra little bit of strength his back legs don’t have anymore. He does the walking, I just support him. We use it multiple times a day now.
Watching your dog struggle to stand and not knowing what to do is awful. I know this can’t make her young again, but being able to lift some of the weight off her back legs and help her move has meant a lot to us.
Easy measurements. And if you’re not sure, we’ll exchange it for free.
